If you ask anyone who has been connected with the auto parts field of the automotive
industry at any time since 1950,you’ll find that the name Wannenburg’s has immediate
recognition.
The foundation of the Wannenburg Group was laid by Daan Wannenburg in 1948, working in the
scrap metal business. Two years later, in 1950, he established Wannenburg Spares.
One of his sons, Hendrik Wannenburg, identified opportunities in the caravan and camping
industry and established Wannenburg Caravans, as well as a new Mazda franchise in Pretoria
North and later expanded to the Gezina area where he bought the AF Sigma agency in
Voortrekkersweg, Gezina.
The company identified a shortage of used spares in the industry
and decided to import replacement body parts from East Asian countries to supply the growing
demand for vehicle body spares.
All branches specialise in specific areas: three in used body and mechanical spares for
passenger vehicles; one in 4X4 and bakkie spares; another in replacement body parts and
automotive paints; a rebuild vehicle sales department; and the last in good quality used
vehicles.
Currently the Wannenburg Group is committed to serve the industry, and its clients, by the third
generation of Wannenburg’s – a hands-on generation responsible for day-to-day management and
implementation of strategies. This continuity of the Wannenburg code of ethics is your assurance
of fair and straightforward dealing, quality, and delivery on our promises.
Because of the current trend of mergers, take-overs and buy-outs, like most business people you
are undoubtedly finding it difficult to build sustainable relationships. When you deal with
Wannenburg’s you can rest assured that by maintaining our founder’s values we are committed to
continue building the long-term relationships that have been the cornerstone of our
business.
Our many years of experience and expert knowledge enables us to source parts required to repair
accident-damaged vehicles cost effectively.
Wannenburg’s has full-time staff available to assist our clients in sourcing new parts from our
own replacement parts store as well as second-hand spares from our used spares-yards.
